The most boring drive in Australia. No, it's not the Nullabor!

We had made it to Tennant Creek in one day and decided to stay at the Threeways roadhouse for some power and air conditioning. We were up and away early, as there was no car to load or water to disconnect and we were still in a hurry. And heading in a new direction - East, which was VERY pleasant after midday when we were driving in our own shadow for most of the day.

And so began the longest, most boring stretch of road in the whole of Australia. We can NOT believe how boring it was. It well and truly beat the Nullabor which was positively thrilling in comparison.

We crossed yet another state border and made our way to the beautiful free camp at the Cammoweal Billabong for the night, where Duncan and Angus spent the evening hunting cane toads with the neighbours.

Cammoweal also has the Stockman's Hall of Fame and museum, which was worth a quick stop at the next morning. We were heading to Mt Isa, where we wanted to do the mine tour and hoped to meet up with another travelling family or two.
