We are
currently in the Flinders Rangers, and have extended our stay an extra day in
the hopes that the knee I whacked yesterday will heal a little quicker today
and allow us to do a hike tomorrow.
We are all
full of little aches and pains. I cracked my kneecap on a train windowsill
yesterday, whacked my ankle sticky-outy-funny-bone bit on the bus aisle the day
before and have an incredibly dark and awful-looking bruise on my arm from
goodness knows what! Dunc’s poor hands are full of knicks and
cuts and hangnails from working on the bus. He has completed a few more
renovations – a new pantry lock and new bedside lights for us – yay! Angus
slipped on the bus stairs yesterday because he was carrying 2 cups and didn’t have a spare hand. Lesson learnt, and back of
ribs bruised. But poor Lexie is the most damaged of all. Way back in January,
in Kelso Tasmania, she was playing on a see-saw with a selfish little girl who
just jumped off without telling Lexie. The poor thing slammed down to the
ground and damaged her coccyx. Caring mother that I am, I ignored her
complaints for the first few weeks (I’m sure you all know how I am with whining and whinge-ing…) and it was only when we were close to
returning to Melbourne that Dunc and I started to discuss our concerns. A visit
to our favourite paediatric chiropractor confirmed our highly educated
diagnosis – her coccyx was slightly deviated and the muscles surrounding it
were sore from coping with that. One manipulation and a long massage session
seemed to fix it completely! Sadly she has started complaining again 4 weeks
later. I’m not sure what we will do as I will
find it incredibly difficult to trust any other chiro... Ooh! I know! We’ll ask Catherine the physio to have a look at her!

Yes!!
Richard and Catherine and Neavey are coming to visit us. We are soooooo excited.
We had hoped to be able to catch up in Perth, but our engine issues and the
delay stuffed that up and we are behind where we thought we would be. They will
be flying to Adelaide instead and we will catch up from there. It’s so exciting, but also a bit strange trying to
work out a schedule. I have obviously become accustomed to this travelling way
of life… I can’t wait to catch up with them. I need a good friend catch up, since
another good friend has just had her 2nd baby and I am not there to
help her or be there for her. I’m feeling the distance and this
distraction will be most welcome.
