Mildura

We had a lovely time in Mildura. The children spent a lot of time in the pool and I spent a lot of time doing washing! In addition to this, Lexie had a haircut, we wandered the farmers market, got incredibly lost in a very large maze, saw PLENTY of rocks and minerals, checked out the irrigation system and drank the most incredible orange juice.

We also went on one of the old paddle steamers, which travel along the Murray River, and through one of the locks. It was great for the kids to see as we rose and fell a height of 4 metres. For Duncan and I, it brought back memories of sailing with Fred in Florida.

At this very moment, we are parked in a rest area on the way to the South Australian border. Our eyes were bigger than our heads were at the farmers market and we bought WAY too many veggies for a family about to cross a state line. Duncan is currently processing onions and garlic so we dont need to throw them all away! I cooked up a heap of potatoes and we made our own hash browns last night. Now we have zip lock baggies of frozen sliced and diced onions and we are soon to have our own jar of homemade minced garlic too. Meal preparation will be a breeze from now on!
