We really
enjoyed our time in Beerwah. It’s a lovely town, with fabulous
artworks right through. Check out the wall of the local Target store:
We went to
the Eumundi markets, which was more to Lexie’s liking than “all the animal things”. We stopped past the Buderim Ginger Factory
and spent an hour or so wandering around there. It can be incredibly expensive
if you pay for all the options, but we limited ourselves to a ride on the train
and a cool down in the air conditioning of the little stores.
All too
soon it was time to move on though.
We had a
great last night’s dinner with the guys at the
Beerwah Sportsground. We had Marty, Belinda, Charlotte and Meg, Bronwyn, John,
Brendan and Monique (Mog), Adrian, Lisa and Jake and us. Quite a crowd! We had
a BYO BBQ with everyone providing salads and desserts. Dunc had dashed off to
meet up with an old friend, so missed the laughs and yummy food, but the rest
of us enjoyed it!
And then it
was departure day and I made a very late realization that THIS farewell to
Belinda and Marty was rather more final than the others had been. We would not
be catching up soon. We would not be running into them further down the road.
With hugs and tears we bid farewell and headed off. It all got a little bit
real and I didn’t like it one little bit!
